Who We Are
The Step into Action Foundation, established in 2025, is built upon a foundation of dedicated fundraising for mental health. Prior to the foundation’s launch, Chris Barton’s personal initiatives raised significant funds for important causes. Now, all efforts will be channeled through the foundation to maximize community impact.
Funds raised through our events go directly towards supporting programs delivered by DGR1 charities focused on mental health across Australia. These programs provide individuals facing mental health challenges with the skills, tools, and strategies they need to better cope and thrive.
At Step Into Action Foundation, we are committed to inclusivity and accessibility. Our events are open to people of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels. We believe that movement and connection should be available to everyone, and that small steps, taken together, can lead to meaningful change.

Walk Challenges
Step Into Action founder, Chris Barton, began his personal mission to support mental health in 2017, undertaking self-designed extreme walking challenges. Chris has consistently pushed his boundaries, from 365-day step challenges to multi-day, non-stop walks spanning hundreds of kilometers, all to raise awareness and funds for this vital cause.
